We want to help you care for your babou bedding and ensure optimum performance so, we have put together some washing instructions which we hope you will find useful.
All babou bed linen is made of percale fabric which means it has a thread count of at least 220 per 10 square cm. The higher the thread count of fabric, the finer the weave, giving a better quality product. Our cotton sateen is made from combed cotton thread which is woven in a way to produce a sophisticated sheen that feels luxuriously soft and smooth.
WASHING INSTUCTIONS
Each babou bedlinen range requires individual attention, therefore please ensure you refer to specific care labels in combination with these guidlines.
We strongly recommend that you pre-wash all bedlinen prior to first use.
Bedlinen should be separated into dark and light colours. Avoid overloading the machine to prevent creasing and wear to the fabric. It also recommended not to mix fabric types as this may result in transfer of fibres to the surface of your bedlinen which could result in pilling ( small balls on the surface )
When washing items with delicate trims, we recommend turning inside out to launder.
Select a gente detergent. Never use a detergent containing Bleach or Whitening agents (Optical brighteners ) when washing fabrics as these could potentially cause progressive fading.
Ensure that you use the recommended amount of washing detergent suggested by the manufacturer. Take care not to expose your bedlinen to neat detergent prior to washing.
DRYING INSTRUCTIONS
When the wash cycle has finished remove bedlinen promptly from the machine and shake out whilst damp to minimise creasing and drying time.
Line drying is ideal and will reduce creasing if bedlinen is carefully hung, finger pressing borders and trims.
If using a tumble drier, follow guidlines. Do not dry your bedlinen for longer than necessary to help reduce creasing and make ironng easier.
IRONING
Products made of cotton become softer with age and will wrinkle less. The amount of creasing you may experience will depend on the thread count and weave-type of your bedlinen as well as the way you handle it. If you choose to iron your linen, use a good steam iron on the recommended setting.
EVERYDAY CARE
When storing bedlinen ensure they are in a damp-free environment and wooden shelving is lined to protect the linen from staining with dyes and natural oils.
Do not expose your linen to direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time. eg on spare beds as this may lead to colour fading.
We hope this will help you have many years of enjoyment from your babou bedding, nursery bedding and cot bedding.
